The AHF supports, sponsors and creates projects in accord with its mission as an educational organization. The art and science of fencing and its evolution have been major factors in European history. Fencing has influenced and in turn been influenced by the socio-cultural environment in which it has existed. The history and social changes that have resulted merit closer scrutiny and are worthy of serious study by academia. Thus it is important for the AHF to facilitate access to information on the history of fencing, dueling, and armed personal combat.
